Some Context - Explorations Hiking & Making Art Outdoors!

Sketch of Coyote Wall

I don’t know if anyone reads blogs anymore, but I recently got the idea to start one. I’m always posting short-lived content on social media, writing artist statements, or cramming ideas into my sketchbooks that never see the light of day. I want to create a place where I can provide context for the Instagram stories that are 50 images long (aka a “tiny dot day” where I overload my story with footage of my explorations hiking and making art outdoors)… where did I go, why did I go, and how did it make me feel? I want a break from trying to sound formal, professional, or hold back on the length of my writing. It doesn’t matter if I’m writing into a void. I just want to share more about some of the amazing places I’ve experienced and how they inspire me to create.

Then of course I realize that there are SO many places I want to write about. So many places… so many photos… so many journal pages and paintings to go with them… how can I ever begin or keep any kind of chronological order? So I’m not going to worry about that.. just start and keep going.

I hope you enjoy.
